Pádraig Ó Tuama is een dichter, verhalenverteller, conflict mediator, activist en theoloog in één. Als geen ander weet de Ierse Ó Tuama taal, religie en verhalen door zijn werk heen te vlechten en zijn toehoorders uit te nodigen tot dialoog en dieper begrip van zaken. Ó Tuama zoekt de inter-persoonlijke ontmoeting en beperkt zich hierin niet tot het contact met medestanders maar zoekt eveneens het gesprek met andersdenkenden. Een voorbeeld van een dergelijke confrontatie is Ó Tuama’s zoektocht naar dialoog met de conservatieve geestelijken en andere voorstanders zijn van de anti-homoseksualiteitwetten in Oeganda. Ó Tuama is een verbinder, een bruggenbouwer, op zoek naar het vreedzaam en gelijkwaardig gesprek met andersdenkenden. Hierdoor is deze sympathieke, bescheiden Noord-Ier een inspiratie voor vele anderen die zoeken naar wegen om de belangen van gemarginaliseerden te behartigen. Ook ontvangt Ó Tuama veel lof voor zijn poëzie en zijn werk voor TenX9, de door hem en zijn partner ontwikkelde storytelling-methode. 
Pádraig Ó Tuama zal tijdens het Geestdrift Festival op 15 oktober naast zijn poëzie voordragen ook vertellen over zijn werk als homo-en-mensenrechtenactivist. Daarnaast zal hij een TenX9 (Ten by Nine) storytelling programma begeleiden in de Kapittelzaal. Hiervoor is Ó Tuama op zoek naar Geestdrift Festivalbezoekers die graag hun eigen TenX9 verhaal in tien minuten (bij voorkeur in het Engels) willen voordragen.
